Aquaventure, Atlantis, Dubai

This week instead of chatting about an actual destination or holiday it's more of an 'activity' post. Aquaventure is the waterpark attached to the Atlantis hotel in Dubai. When we first arrived in the UAE we used to visit it all the time as it is such good fun and a really good day out. Unfortunately, we didn't make it there last year with moving and hubby changing jobs, the year just literally flew by and we ran out of time. We will be going there this year for sure! We love the lazy river with the rapids which is great fun! They do have a few other rides if you're more of a thrill seeker, but for me and hubby the lazy river is just perfect for us.  The grounds are lovely, you have the beach with the Burg Al Arab in the distance, food outlets, 'Shark Bites' is always our 'go to' place, the burgers are lush and huge! We made the mistake of ordering a double cheeseburger one time and they were absolutely massive and

Hyatt Regency, Kuantan, Malaysia

This weeks post is all bout the Hyatt Regency, Kuantan. Back in 2010 we had six months in Kuala Lumpur while my husband was working out there. My husband worked a crazy shift pattern, but when he did have some time off we tried to make the most of it. We discovered Kuantan when we were looking at the Hyatt website one day. Kuantan is on the East Coast of Malaysia and less then an hours flight away from KL. We flew on Malaysian Airlines, but Air Asia do fantastic deals too. We went there three times in total. Twice for only one night and then once we went for two nights. It doesn't sound long to spend, but the hotel, even being a Hyatt, was so affordable and with cheap flights it made it a great little getaway.  We were so impressed with the hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and the grounds were lovely too. There are two pools, one of them with a swim up bar which did some very tasty pizzas! The hotel was right on the beach so we had lovely

Anantara Veli, Maldives

- this post contains affiliate links, read more on  disclaimer/contact   page - February 2012 we went to the Maldives for a week for my 30th birthday. We stayed at Anantara Veli ( here ) which was absolutely stunning.  There are actually two Islands that are connected. Anantara Veli  which is geared more towards couples and then there's Dhigu  which seemed to have more families staying there and was a bigger island.  A small one minute boat ride takes you between the two islands. You are free to use the facilities and restaurants on each. We stayed on Veli  most of the time, but on my actual birthday we did go over to the Italian restaurant on Dhigu , which was overlooking the sea and very tranquil. I was surprised to a gorgeous chocolate cake and an assortment of desserts. The breakfast buffet was also absolutely stunning and the staff were all so friendly, helpful and welcoming, definitely an asset to the resort. I strongly recommend the Tha
