Relaxing at Cabo Roig Marina

Cabo Roig Marina

When we were last over in Spain at the house, we headed down to one of our favourite spots on the Costa Blanca South. It's always somewhere we love to take friends and family as well.

Cabo Roig Marina is tucked away behind the busy N332. Once you turn off the main road you drive through the palm tree lined streets passing some absolutely gorgeous houses, which are definitely on the 'when we win the lottery' list!

I love the drive to Cabo Roig Marina. The streets are quiet and calm. The palm trees give you a real tropical holiday kinda vibe. Then when you take the turning to the marina down a steep hill the view is amazing.

It's quite a small marina, but a lovely display of boats and a couple of restaurants too.

The first restaurant is The Clipper, which we've been too a few times now (it was closed on that particular day though, I'm guessing as it's the low season).

Then further round the marina there's a much larger restaurant/bar with outside seating, La Bahia.

Such a fantastic suntrap even in January. We took a front row seat overlooking the sea and the beach over to the right. The beach had quite a few people on it catching their winter sun and we even spotted a couple of crazy brave guys taking a dip in the sea!

We sipped on our diet cokes, lapped up the sun on our faces while watching the clear blue waters of the sea.

Absolute bliss.

Mil Palmeras

Happy Thursday guys, hope you're all well. I'm just popping on here to show you a few pictures I snapped quickly today while we were at Mil Palmeras Beach. We popped to Mercadona this morning, well more lunchtime(ish) as we are sleeping in so much lately, but that's for another day. So, we picked up a few bits for the weekend and grabbed one of their sushi boxes for our lunch on the go. fyi , the best supermarket sushi I've had! After our trip to Mercadona we headed for Leroy Merlin in La Zenia as we needed to get some more bags of sand and some gravel too for our little diy garden project. I say little, but it's turning into quite the construction! Keep an eye on my  insta stories   over the weekend for updates. En-route to Leroy's we stopped off at Mil Palmeras to eat our sushi by the sea. Mil Palmeras has always been one of our favourite places here on the Costa Blanca South. Actually it was one of the first places we went to after the lockdown last year.  To

Looking for compounds in Riyadh

When Mark was first offered the job in Saudi, actually even before that when we were waiting in anticipation for the job to be offered we knew our first choice of accommodation in Riyadh would be on a western compound. We wanted our new place to be a home from home. Even though we have no problem whatsoever with following dress codes or anything and it actually doesn’t bother us in the slightest covering up. We sometimes, because of the world we’re from, being a westerner we wanted that little bit of ‘normality’ from our home life that we’re used too. We like to go on walks in the evening so it’s nice to be able to just pop on your shorts and vest and go for a walk without thinking and also being able to pop to the mini market for a pint of milk and a loaf of bread. Probably one of the biggest reasons for us to live on a compound is that we like to swim, sunbathe and be at the pool together. Which for us is a big part of our life. Another thing we like about compound living is the esca
