Iceland Waterpark, Ras-Al Khaimah, UAE

Iceland waterpark RAK

The weekend just gone slid a couple of days for us, as Mark was busy working through Friday and Saturday. This wasn't all bad, as it's nice sometimes to have week days free to do things.

Sunday for us was very lazy. We took a walk down to the beach near where we live. The beach was deserted apart from one other couple bobbing around in the sea. We took a lovely long stroll along the shore taking in the sea air. It was a bit windy on the beach, but we welcomed that very much as the temperatures are still very hot! We do love our little beach and feel so lucky to have one so close!

Monday we were slightly more adventurous!

We went to the local water park near us called Iceland.

When we lived in Dubai we loved going to Aquaventure, at the Atlantis on the Palm, so we were really excited to try Iceland out. We did have a fun day, but sadly the park was a bit tired and in need of some TLC.

Also, they had really really loud music playing by the lazy river! Now, if you're anything like us we can stay floating around lazy rivers for hours as they are so relaxing, but with the loud music it was really off putting, which is a real shame.

On the plus side though, the rides they had were really good fun and we got a bit of a tan too, so not all bad!!

Read more on my  Disclaimer/Contact  page ~ Since writing the post ' Blogging tips ~ Basic/Beginners'   I keep thinking about the part about choosing a name for your blog. If you've been here a while you'd know that this blog was originally called Suncream and Sparkles ~ which I have written about why I changed my blog name  here . Even though I do love my new blog name and I don't regret changing it I do wish I had taken more time and consideration in the very beginning when first starting my blog, or at least before buying the domain. You see blogging, even now for me who's been doing it for a fair few years, it really is a constant learning curve where you're always discovering new ways and new ideas to tweak and improve your blog. Mil Palmeras

Happy Thursday guys, hope you're all well. I'm just popping on here to show you a few pictures I snapped quickly today while we were at Mil Palmeras Beach. We popped to Mercadona this morning, well more lunchtime(ish) as we are sleeping in so much lately, but that's for another day. So, we picked up a few bits for the weekend and grabbed one of their sushi boxes for our lunch on the go. fyi , the best supermarket sushi I've had! After our trip to Mercadona we headed for Leroy Merlin in La Zenia as we needed to get some more bags of sand and some gravel too for our little diy garden project. I say little, but it's turning into quite the construction! Keep an eye on my  insta stories   over the weekend for updates. En-route to Leroy's we stopped off at Mil Palmeras to eat our sushi by the sea. Mil Palmeras has always been one of our favourite places here on the Costa Blanca South. Actually it was one of the first places we went to after the lockdown last year.  To

This isn't just a one off trip either. It is for, well, the foreseeable future, for as long as they'll have us anyway.  If you follow my social media,  Instagram  and  Twitter  you've probably picked up on the fact that we have relocated to Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The gist of the reason is that my husband was offered a fantastic position out there and to be honest after trying out semi-retirement and with the whole pandemic thing where we've (all) been extremely restricted we were itching for another adventure. We also never realised how much we missed the Middle East.  Previously we had five years out in the UAE, living in Abu D
