About

Hi, I'm Heather and welcome to www.myspanishvida.com my little corner of the internet.

I've had my blog since mid 2013. The blog has changed and evolved quite a bit over the years, including a name change too (you can read about the name change here ) and I'm even thinking about another name change too, so watch this space.

At the moment my husband and I are currently based on Spain's Costa Blanca South, which is where the inspiration for the latest blog name came from. I do like to share things about our local area, but the blog isn't just limited to all things Spain even though the name may suggest otherwise, I also love to chat and write about all aspects of
Lifestyle Travel Home / Garden / Wellness Spain / Fashion & Beauty.

I've finally decided to just forget about having to fall into a blogging 'niche' or having to 'be' a certain way and write about what I want when I want and that feels good.

I hope you enjoy the blog, reading my thoughts and ideas on many different lifestyle subjects and following my journey wherever that may take me in the world.

Choosing a name for your blog

Read more on my  Disclaimer/Contact  page ~ Since writing the post ' Blogging tips ~ Basic/Beginners'   I keep thinking about the part about choosing a name for your blog. If you've been here a while you'd know that this blog was originally called Suncream and Sparkles ~ which I have written about why I changed my blog name  here . Even though I do love my new blog name and I don't regret changing it I do wish I had taken more time and consideration in the very beginning when first starting my blog, or at least before buying the domain. You see blogging, even now for me who's been doing it for a fair few years, it really is a constant learning curve where you're always discovering new ways and new ideas to tweak and improve your blog. If you're debating on what name to choose for your

Mil Palmeras

Happy Thursday guys, hope you're all well. I'm just popping on here to show you a few pictures I snapped quickly today while we were at Mil Palmeras Beach. We popped to Mercadona this morning, well more lunchtime(ish) as we are sleeping in so much lately, but that's for another day. So, we picked up a few bits for the weekend and grabbed one of their sushi boxes for our lunch on the go. fyi , the best supermarket sushi I've had! After our trip to Mercadona we headed for Leroy Merlin in La Zenia as we needed to get some more bags of sand and some gravel too for our little diy garden project. I say little, but it's turning into quite the construction! Keep an eye on my  insta stories   over the weekend for updates. En-route to Leroy's we stopped off at Mil Palmeras to eat our sushi by the sea. Mil Palmeras has always been one of our favourite places here on the Costa Blanca South. Actually it was one of the first places we went to after the lockdown last year.  To

Seychelles

We went to the Seychelles in August 2011 and January 2012. The first time we went, we stayed at the Berjaya Hotel, Beau Vallon Bay, Mahe and the second time we were booked into the same hotel, but we could only cope with one night before we relocated to the Kempinski Resort, Baie Lazare.   Berjaya Hotel, Beau Vallon Bay, Mahe Aug 2011 We chose the area Beau Vallon Bay, as my husband went there with his parents when he was a little boy and has fond memories of the holiday. They stayed at the Coral Strand, which wasn't available at the time when we wanted to go, as it was in the middle of major renovations. Berjaya Hotel was the crew hotel for the airline my husband worked for at the time, so we thought that it would be a perfect one to book into. To be honest the hotel was really disappointing. It was very dated and felt quite shabby. It was clean enough though, so we thought 'it will do' as we were only there for a couple
